BitDefender Antivirus Joins Activities in University of Sto. Tomas’ 400 Years Celebration February 14, 2011
BitDefender, an award-winning provider of innovative internet security solutions, joins in the activities of the University of Sto. Tomas (UST) in celebration of its 400 years this 2011. The university, located in Manila, will celebrate its Quadricentennial with year-long activities that will include masses, academic gatherings, opera concerts, charity works, filmfests, dance contests and visits by movie star alumni. A BitDefender booth will be present in the week-long "Proud Thomasian Ako!" Basta Tomasino Advocacy Campaign Photo Exhibit which starts on February 14, 2011 and which will be held in the Tan-Yan-Kee Lobby of the university campus. UST students who visit the booth can expect to play several games with prizes to be given away. A “Shoot-That-Virus” mini basketball game will earn successful players with BitDefender baller IDs and plastic bags as souvenirs. A Photo booth contest will also be held among the students, with the photos to be posted on the contestant’s Facebook page and linked to the BitDefender Philippines Facebook site. The photo with the most number of “likes” in the social media site will receive free 1-year BitDefender antivirus license from IPSYSTEMS Inc, the Philippine distributor of BitDefender. “We are very proud and honored to be part of UST’s Quadricentennial celebration,” said Ms. Barbara Napiere, IPSYSTEMS product manager. “Our partnership with UST has gone a long way, as the university has always been supportive of the security campaigns and anti-piracy educational events that BitDefender has been holding for students since 2008.” BitDefender 2011, the latest version of the internet security solution, is available in Octagon Computer Superstore (Megamall branch), Accent Micro and PC Live stores, National Book Store branches, and other major computer stores around Metro Manila.
